Solar escalator FAQs
What is a solar escalator?
It’s a built-in yearly increase on your solar lease payment or PPA rate. The increases compound, so each year’s bump is applied to the year before. Check your agreement for “annual increase” or “escalation rate.”
Why do some companies offer escalating payments?
Some pair a lower starting payment with yearly increases. What matters is how your payment changes over the whole agreement, and knowing you can ask for an option with no escalator.
Can I get solar without an escalator?
Yes. Fill out the form above, or text Mark directly at 774-217-8830 (yep, his personal cell) and he’ll walk you through your options.
Will I still have an electric bill?
That depends on your home, your energy use, and your system. You may still have some charges from your utility. Mark can look at your situation and tell you what to expect.
What if I already signed a solar agreement?
No problem. If your system hasn’t been installed yet, you may be able to cancel, depending on your agreement’s terms. Mark can walk you through next steps if his option turns out to be a better fit.

* How we calculate this, and the fine print
Calculation method: The first increase kicks in at the start of year 2, then every year after. Monthly payment in year N = starting payment × (1 + escalator ÷ 100)N−1. Totals add 12 monthly payments for each year. Math uses unrounded amounts; displayed figures are rounded. Actual contract schedules may differ.
Calculator disclosure: Illustrative estimates only. This is not a quote, offer, guarantee of savings, or determination of eligibility. Both examples use the same starting payment and term to isolate the escalator’s effect. The 0% example is not Mark’s actual pricing; available options, starting prices, and terms depend on your property and final agreement. Results exclude utility charges, taxes, fees, incentives, financing costs, and changes in usage or production. For PPAs, 0% refers to the annual escalator on the per-kWh rate, and bills may still vary. The difference shown is between these two illustrations, not guaranteed savings. Verify your inputs and review all proposal and contract terms before making a decision.
